Football Equipment

Below is a list of the equipment every official needs to have for each game. Some equipment will vary by position.

Hats: Referee wears white hat. All others wear black

Shirts: 2" or 2.25" stripes long & short sleeve.

Pants: Black with white stripe.

Shoes: Must be all black. White logo and sole is acceptable.

Whistle: Referee and Umpire only can wear the finger whistle

Lanyard: For your whistle

Flag: Yellow ball or black ball on flag

Beanbag; Used to mark spots. (Black, Blue, White)

Note card and pencil: Many variations but stored in shirt pocket to keep track of timeouts, penalties, etc...

Wristwatch: Simple black digital watch

Down Indicators: Worn on wrists and adjusted on fingers to keep track of down.

Clip: Only for the Head Linesman to be used on the chain crew.
